Opening a criminal case against a seller

Opening a criminal case against a seller

In the event that you may have fallen victim to a suspected scammer or fraudulent seller, you can contact our security team at communitywatch@bobshop.co.za or call us on 010 005 6200 for further advice or assistance. It might be necessary for you to contact your nearest SAPS branch and open a case of theft under false pretenses against the seller.

We may require a Section 205 subpoena to release the seller's full details, in accordance with our privacy policy.  We will try to assist the police or the investigating officer with as much information that we may have on the seller and the transaction.

Please bear in mind that we provide no guarantees that the seller's information is legitimate or valid, or that you will be able to recover your funds.  We also cannot act on your behalf in a legal capacity as we are not the purchaser, therefore we cannot be the complainant when opening a case.
